Keep your tea or coffee warm with this simple cosy for your French press

 

Material: approx 50g (1ľoz) worsted weight yarn (wool and wool blends work best)
4.5mm (US7) needles circular or straight
3.5mm (US4) double pointed needles
           
Gauge: 20sts to 4ins (10cms) on 4.5mm needles or size needed to obtained gauge

Abbreviations: K- Knit, P – Purl, K2tog – knit two stitches together 

With 4.5mm needles cast on 110sts.
Rows 1 – 4 : Knit
Row 5: K5, *K2tog repeat from * to last 5 sts, K5 (60sts)

 

Row 6: (Wrong side) Knit.
Row 7: Knit
Row 8: K5, P50, K5.
Repeat Rows 7 and 8 until work measures
7 inches (17cms).
Next Row: (right side) Knit. Cast on 2sts.
Text Box: If you are using a circular needles slide the stitches to the other end of the needle.  With double pointed needles join in the round and work K1, P1 ribbing for three rounds.
If you are using straight needles slip your stitches on to the double pointed needles, dividing the stitches between the needles.  Join in the round and work K1, P1 ribbing for three rounds. 

Cast off loosely.  Sew in ends.
