Materials: approx 50m (55yds) worsted
weight cotton [label should read 20sts to
4ins (10 cms) on 4.5mm needles]
Size 5mm crochet hook or size required to obtain tension
Gauge: diameter after Round 3 3ins (7.5cm)
Abbreviations: ch - chain sc - single crochet dc - double

Ch 6, slip stitch into first ch to form a ring
Round 1: Ch 4, *dc into ring, ch 1, repeat from * 8 times, sl st
into 3rd ch of beginning ch,

Round 2: Ch 4, *dc in
next ch sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, repeat from * 8 times, dc in
last ch sp, ch 1, sl st into 3rd of beginning ch. (18 ch 1 sps)
Round 3: Ch 2, *sc in ch sp, sc in dc, repeat from * 17 times, sl st
into first sc.
Round 4: Ch 3, dc in back loop of each sc, sl st into top of
turning ch.
Round 5: Ch 4, *miss 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, repeat from *
to end of round, dc in beginning ch sp, ch 1.
Next - this is a continuous spiral: *dc in next ch sp, ch 1,
repeat from * until work measures 5 ins (13cms) after Round 4
unstretched, or desired length. Ch 2, sl st into next ch sp. Do not
fasten off.
Strap
Ch 3, dc in next ch sp. Turn.
Ch 3, dc in same dc as Ch 3. Turn.
Repeat last row until desired length.
Join to opposite side (make sure the strap is not twisted), by
slip stitching in to a ch sp then slip stitch through the next dc on
turning ch of strap.
Fasten off. |
