 Ribbed Wristwarmers

Models were knit with SandnesGarn Alpakka and Punta Yarn Mericash

Sizes:  Small (Medium) 
Materials *50g (100m) double knit yarn

Gauge: 24sts to 4ins (10cms) on 3.5mm (US4) or size needed to obtain gauge 

Abbreviations: K- Knit, P – Purl,
St(es) – Stitches(es), K2tog – knit 2 stitches together

With 3.5mm needles cast on 40 (44)sts loosely.    Join in a round making sure the stitches are not twisted. 
Round 1: *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.
Repeat round 1 until work measures 3 (3½) inches 8 (9)cm.

Thumb Increases
Round 1: K2, P2, increase 1 stitch in next 2 stitches, place marker, P2, *K2, P2, repeat from * to end of round.
Round 2: K2, P2, K4, P2, *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.
Round 3: K2, P2, K1, increase 1 stitch n next 2 stitches, K1, P2, *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.
Round 4: K2, P2, knit to marker, P2, *K2, P2, repeat from * to end of round.
Round 5: K2, P2, K1, increase 1, knit to one stitch before marker, increase 1, K2, P2, *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.
Repeat Rounds 4 and 5 until there are 14 (18) knit stitches between the purl stitches for the thumb gusset.
Next Round: K2, P2, place next 14 (18) stitches on to a stitch holder, cast on 2sts, P2, *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.
Next Round: *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.
Repeat last round until work measures 6½ (7) inches 16 (18) cms from cast on edge.

Cast off loosely.

Thumb
With double pointed needles, knit stitches from the stitch holder, dividing the stitches between needles.
Pick up and knit 4sts across the cast on sts.
Next Round: K14 (18), K2tog twice.
Next Round: Knit.
Next Round: *K2, P2 repeat from * to end of round.

Repeat last round 4 times.

Cast off.
