Start with one
stitch. No tension swatch required. Based on Debbie New’s technique
as seen in her book Unexpected Knitting, learn how to knit a pullover,
cardigan or vest starting with only one stitch. Learn a quick and
easy neck shaping technique that can be used on most styles of
pullovers.
This technique is
also known as “knit until it’s big enough” or dishcloth knitting, even
though it goes far beyond the basic diagonally knit dishcloth. Debbie
New’s designs stop at vests where Paulette knit sleeves to produce
cardigans and pullovers and uses a simple gusset technique for neck
shaping.
This technique is
suitable for children’s garments, adults as well as dolls, teddy bears
and other stuffed toys. Also a good technique for bags, lap robes or
afghans.
