Top Down Socks

We'll use Tin Can Knits' simple but elegant Rye Sock pattern to teach the basics of top down sock construction. Techniques include stretchy cast on, heel flaps, short row heel turns, gusset pick up and decreases, and the important Kitchener stitch for grafting the toe (and a little history on this useful skill). Along the way you'll build confidence in reading your knitting and fixing mistakes, and learn tips for choosing a good sock yarn and caring for your socks.

Kerri
Instructor Bio:
Kerri lives in Kelowna and is a lover of all things cozy. You'll often find her sipping tea under a blanket with her needles clicking and hand knit socks warming her feet! She learned to knit from her mom at a young age, and she has loved squishing yarn ever since. Kerri has taught knitting to people of all ages, including children at the elementary school where she is a teacher by day. She especially loves that moment when a student's eyes light up after having knit their very first stitch! Kerri also designs knitting patterns, and she particularly enjoys creating sock designs inspired by her favourite movies and TV shows.
