Top Down Socks

Using Tin Can Knits simple Rye sock pattern you will learn the basics of top down sock construction.  Techniques addressed in the class include stretchy cast on, heel flaps, short row heel turns, gusset pick up and decreases, and the important kitchener stitch for grafting the toe.  Along the way you will continue to build confidence in reading your knitting and fixing mistakes.  We will also spend time discussing what makes a good sock yarn and caring for your socks.

Skill Level: Knit in the round, decreasing.
Requirements: Please download the Rye sock pattern by Tin Can Knits from Ravelry prior to the start of class. Please bring 3.25mm and 3.75mm circular (for magic loop or two circular needle method) or double pointed needles, 100 to 200 grams of worsted weight sock yarn depending on size you are making, stitch markers, darning needle, notebook, and pencil to the first class.
