The Strange Brew recipe offers a step by step guide to making a custom colourwork yoke sweater, without fuss or fear. You choose the size, the yarn, the colours, and the patterns. The math is done for you.
In this workshop you will explore round yoke design using a ‘plug and play’ round yoke guideline pattern (just follow the pattern - no math!). A hat and cowl pattern so you can make ‘useful swatches’ to choose yarn, colour, and patterns before you begin your sweater. Nearly 100 stitch patterns to get you started, and knitters graph paper so you can draw your own. A ‘wedge design’ strategy for the more adventurous knitter.

* a stranded colourwork dictionary (optional)
* DK weight yarn in 2 colours
* 4.5 mm needles to work a swatch or swatch hat

Pre-Workshop Homework: For those who are keen, cast on your sweater and sleeves, knit bottom up to the yoke, and come ready to design and knit your yoke in class. For everyone else, no homework required (we will focus on knitting a hat as your swatch).
