YOHY001: Yarn Okanagan-Fine Finishing with Holli Yeoh



In this fast-paced workshop, we will discuss casting on, selvedges, fully fashioned increases and decreases, blocking, ends, seams, and if time permits, edgings. You’ll have an opportunity to try several of the techniques. With the skills developed in this workshop in your knitting arsenal, you'll feel a well-deserved sense of pride and confidence in your finished projects.

Bring:
* homework swatches
* two colours of worsted weight yarn in a light to medium colour
* 3.75 & 4.5 mm (US 5 & 7) knitting needles
* a third 4.5 mm (US 7) knitting needle
* yarn needle
* basic knitting toolkit

Requirements:
Pre-Workshop Homework: Use worsted weight yarn in light to medium colour and 4.5 mm (US 7) needle to knit three small swatches as follows. Please do not work any special selvedge stitches. Swatches 1 & 2: Cast on 15 sts. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 2 inches (5 cm), ending with WS row, then beginning with a knit row, work in Stockinette stitch for 3 inches (7.5 cm). Bind off. Repeat instructions for a second swatch in the same colour. Swatch 3: Cast on 15 sts. Beginning with a knit row work in Stockinette stitch for 3 inches (7.5 cm). Do not bind off. Cut yarn leaving a 12 inch (30 cm) tail. Place stitches on a stitch holder or waste yarn. It is recommended that you block your swatches so it is easier to work with them in class.
