Swatches 1 & 2: Cast on 15 sts. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 2 inches (5 cm), ending with WS row, then beginning with a knit row, work in Stockinette stitch for 3 inches (7.5 cm). Bind off. Repeat instructions for a second swatch in the same colour. Swatch 3: Cast on 15 sts. Beginning with a knit row work in Stockinette stitch for 3 inches (7.5 cm). Do not bind off. Cut yarn leaving a 12 inch (30 cm) tail. Place stitches on a stitch holder or waste yarn. It is recommended that you block your swatches so it is easier to work with them in class.
