Embroidery on Knitwear



Create one-of-a-kind accessories and garments as you learn stitches and techniques to embroider your hand-knit or store-bought knitwear.  In class we will be trying out stitches on a comfy toque.

Requirements:
To get the most out of this class please knit the following hat prior to class. Using worsted weight yarn and 4.5 mm needles, cast on 88 stitches. Join in the round. Row 1: *K1, P1* repeat for complete round. Continue Row 1 until brim measures 2 inches. Switch to Row 2: Knit every stitch. Continue Row 2 until hat measures 6 inches from the cast on edge. On last round place marker every 22 stitches (4 markers) Decrease Row 1: *K1, K2tog, K to 3 stitches before marker, SSK, K1* repeat to end of round Decrease Row 2: Knit every stitch Repeat row 1 and 2 until 24 stitches remain Decrease Row 3: K2tog all the way around Cut yarn leaving a long tail. Use a tapestry needle to thread yarn through live stitches and pull tight. Weave in ends. Bring hat, scraps of yarn for doing your embroidery, small scissors, and a tapestry needle.
