Regular, Fine Sett, or Extra Fine Sett*: Refers to pin spacing.
- R – “Regular” pin spacing is for worsted weight yarns (knitting gauge 16-20 sts/4 inch).
- F – “Fine sett or fine-sett” is for sock/fingering weight yarns (knitting gauge 24-26 sts/4 inch).
- XF – “Extra fine sett” is for finer sock/fingering weight yarns (knitting gauges 28-30 sts/4 inch).
Please note that these are guidelines … yarns vary, and you may want to use yarns on different looms to achieve a looser or tighter fabric.
